On Chat Box, David Cruz discusses the historic rulings in the ‘party line’ lawsuit and why some party leaders are still staunch supporters of the current system. Many warn about the rise of fringe candidacies and the influence of money in party primaries. Cruz talks with Mike DuHaime, CEO of MAD Global Strategy Group.

Then, what do you need to know about the upcoming solar eclipse? Lujendra Ojha, assistant professor of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Rutgers University, joins Cruz to discuss how much we’ll see here in New Jersey. Finally, musician, creator of the YouTube channel Awkward Puppets and New Jersey native Rudy Mancuso talks about his semi-autobiographical film, Música, premiering on Amazon Prime this week, living with synesthesia and the role Newark’s Ironbound section plays in his new film.

Watch Chat Box on the NJ Spotlight News YouTube channel Thursdays at 6 p.m., and on NJ PBS Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
