On Chat Box this week, David Cruz looks at the growing discontent among school administrators and lawmakers over cuts to state aid in Gov. Phil Murphy’s budget proposal. Almost 140 school districts are set to lose funding. Sen. Andrew Zwicker (D-Hunterdon) discusses the cuts his district is facing and New Jersey’s school funding formula.

A year after the fatal police shooting of crisis intervention specialist Najee Seabrooks in Paterson, Rev. Weldon McWilliams, a senior pastor at Christ Temple Baptist Church in Paterson, talks about the impact police reforms have had in the city and what still needs to be done to improve police and community relations.

Kristen Joy Owens, guest curator at the Newark Museum of Art, discusses “The Story of Newark Fashion: Atelier to Runway,” the museum’s latest exhibition which features designers with connections to Newark and the impact the state’s largest city has had on the global fashion industry.
