What NJ poll workers will earn on primary Election Day, June 4

The primary election is coming up on Tuesday, June 4 and the Division of Elections is seeking poll workers. Poll workers can earn $21.43 per hour on in-person early voting days and a total of $300 on primary Election Day itself. People can submit an application to become a poll worker at Pollworker.NJ.Gov.

Residents can apply to serve as poll workers in New Jersey if they meet the following requirements:

  • Are a United States citizen and a resident of New Jersey;
  • Are a registered voter in the county in which they reside;
  • Are at least 16 years of age. College and high school students are encouraged to apply; those under 18 years of age will work limited hours per shift and do not have to be registered to vote. Contact your County Board of Elections for further information;
  • Are not running as a candidate in this election.
