In the first nine weeks of open enrollment, a record high number of New Jersey residents — 366,000 — signed up for a 2024 health insurance plan through Get Covered New Jersey, the state’s health insurance marketplace. Overall plan selection totals are up 14% compared to this time last year, according to the Department of Banking and Insurance.
Open enrollment ends Jan. 31.
“With only a few weeks left in the Open Enrollment Period, I urge residents in need of health coverage to review their options and sign up today,” said Justin Zimmerman, acting DOBI commissioner. “To assist residents in getting information about available health plans, the department is providing direct enrollment assistance at several shopping malls. Engaging New Jersey residents in their communities is vital to increasing public awareness of the accessibility of health coverage through Get Covered New Jersey.”
Enrollment events are taking place at Willowbrook Mall, Cherry Hill Mall and Menlo Park Mall.
