Overall, 10 New Jersey hospitals met U.S. News’ standards and were ranked. The other nine hospitals ranked were Morristown Medical Center, Valley Hospital, Overlook Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Jersey Shore University Medical Center at Hackensack Meridian Health, Cooper University Health Care in Camden, AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Jefferson Health and St. Joseph’s University Medical Center.

U.S. News ranks hospitals based on 12 data-driven specialties including cancer, cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, geriatrics and several others.

“The goal is to evaluate how well hospitals perform in each procedure or condition — not just with the most challenging cases, as with the specialty rankings, but with the full range of patients,” according to its website.
