From New Jersey’s growing offshore wind industry to jobs in decarbonization, the state’s green workforce has countless emerging career opportunities. On Wednesday the Murphy administration announced over $8 million to further build out the green job sector.

The Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy (OCAGE), along with the state Department of Environmental Protection, announced that $5 million of this allocation will go toward those entering the workforce – focusing on overburdened communities. $3.75 million will go toward grant programs that expand training in the offshore wind workforce.

“As we work to protect our vulnerable communities from the effects of climate change, we will also ensure that they are equipped with the resources they need to reap the optimal benefits of our state’s transition to a 100% clean energy economy,” said Gov. Murphy in a statement.
