
Stockton University President Herman J. Saatkamp Jr. will step down later this year after more than a decade at the helm of the Galloway-based school, NJBIZ has learned.
In a Tuesday letter to the university’s board of trustees, Saatkamp offered notice of his resignation, which will “become effective at a mutually agreed upon date after Aug. 31, 2015.” He said there “are several factors involved in making this decision, which include past and president health considerations and the demands I expect of myself from the office.”
“It has been my pleasure to serve as president since June 23, 2003,” he wrote in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by NJBIZ. “The flexibility of the timing enables the trustees to determine when a new or interim president can be in place to best serve the university.
