According to a new Rutgers-Eagleton Poll released Monday, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leads Gov. Chris Christie by a double-digit margin among registered New Jersey voters in a hypothetical 2016 presidential matchup.
The poll found that 49 percent of voters would support Clinton, while just 39 percent of voters would back Christie. Clinton has enjoyed similar hypothetical leads among New Jersey voters in other polls conducted over the past year.
Furthermore, the poll found that, while Clinton has a 56 percent favorability rating among voters in the Garden State, Christie hovers at just 44 percent, down from 65 percent at the start of 2014.
