Governor Christie sat down with Oprah Winfrey in October for an interview that will air Sunday on her television station OWN.
According to the network website, Christie will discuss topics such as his struggle with weight and why he chose not to run for president on the episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”
In clips the show released, Christie talks about working with Democrats in New Jersey. He says he won’t compromise his principles, but he acknowledges he won’t get everything he wants. He also says Barack Obama should not be underestimated. “He is as good a politician as I’ve ever seen,” Christie said, though he said Obama’s shortcomings have come with his governing.
Christie also speaks about his late mother who told him to go to work where he belonged in the last few days of her life. “There’s nothing left unsaid between us,” Christie recalled her saying.
Christie’s appearance on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” will air Sunday at 9 p.m. on OWN.
